High School to Adult Students

$40

Saturday, August 7, 2021 9 AM – 1 PM

In compliance with CDC guidelines and the high COVID transmission rate in Spokane County, the Spokane Art School will require all students,

even if vaccinated, to wear a mask in class.

As the Delta variant breakthrough cases increase we wish to keep everyone safe.

Caricature is an old and respected art form. It’s also a lucrative sideline for a professional artist. In this workshop, we’ll discuss the ways to exaggerate and simplify an individual’s distinctive features to depict someone in a way that’s both funny and instantly recognizable. The instructor has been drawing caricatures professionally for over 30 years, and has learned to draw them both at leisure and under intense time pressure. He’ll draw caricature of each of the students, and they in turn will draw each other and celebrities from the worlds of entertainment, politics, and sports.
