Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30PM

September 11, 18, 25 and October 9, 16, & 23, 2019 (Due to prior commitments, Roger will not be available to teach Wednesday October 2nd. This class will be extended by one week to October 23rd. This will give students a chance to practice that which they have been taught.)

Why a digital camera when my phone takes good pictures? The adjustability, lenses and lighting possibilities of a digital camera mean you don't just “take a photo”, you can create stunning images from your mind’s eye. Digital cameras have brought back the fun of photography for many of us. Switch your digital camera off “AUTO” and learn to capture the pictures in your imagination. Unleash your creativity while learning to master the fantastic new world of digital photography. This class will help you to better understand which functions, buttons and settings on your camera to use, to create better photographs! You'll explore how aperture (AV) and shutter speed (TV) are the heart of creative control. Discover the importance of white balance, exposure compensation, daylight flash, and focus contribute to the total image. We will also take a look at various camera accessories. If time allows we can look at how the computer ties in to creativity and picture storage.

Roger concentrates on the total photo experience- what he calls the “Zen of Photography”. How to capture the beauty, emotion or humor that makes up your everyday life. The photo process includes knowledge of your camera, finding interesting subjects and lighting. Learn how to train your mind to find and frame the perfect photo.

Please show up with your camera ready to go: battery charged, memory card in and camera manual in tow. And most of all, prepare to have fun.
